| Impression casting is done with the patient relaxed and sitting with the legs supported.
Plaster of paris splints are wetted and applied to the sides and underneath areas of the feet.
The plaster of paris splints are soft and pliable, and they will be smoothed to the contour of each foot.
The plaster of paris will remain on each foot until it dries, and will then be painlessly removed, revealing a mold or impression of each foot.Other material may be used to obtain foot impressions such as heat activated material instead of plaster of paris. |
